Patch updates

October 14 - Consistent Weekly Labels Across Languages

We've fixed an issue where weekly time period labels in the Time picker differed across languages. For example, week numbers in German appeared one week behind the same periods in English. Week labels are now consistent across all languages.

October 1 - External Links in Reports

You can now add a URL to a report description to link to external resources. For more information, see "Add links to a report description" in Create a Report.

September 2 - Labels API

You can use this API to create, manage, and retrieve labels that are visible only to you. Labels provide a simple, personalized way to organize your Visier content in the Analyses and Reports room. For more information, see Labels API.

September 2 - Filter Reports Columns

You can now apply filters to columns in a report to quickly include or exclude specific attribute values. Available options depend on the column type. For more information, see "Manage fields" in Create a Report.

What's new

Evolving Vee General Availability Not available to Embedded Partners

Announcing the general availability of the evolution of Vee. Vee now transforms ambiguous business questions into actionable insights and guidance. It seeks clarification when needed, provides context beyond raw numbers, explains the "so what" behind data patterns, and suggests logical next steps for analysis or action. For more information, see "Determine your Vee experience" in Meet Vee.

Note: If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access by submitting an Enable a Feature case.

Improvements include:

  • Multi-Query Questions: Vee can answer multi-query questions that require answers spanning multiple visualizations.
  • Contextual Awareness: Vee now reads the entire analysis page. It uses all visible text and visuals on your screen as context to answer your questions.
  • AI Explanations & Follow-ups: Vee can provide AI explanations on analyses and visuals. Ask follow-up questions directly in the chat to dive deeper into your data.
  • Instructions and Role Personalization: Administrators can set instructions for Vee to define how Vee gathers data or how it styles responses. Through instructions, Vee's responses can be personalized to different user groups.
  • Safeguards: Administrators can add safeguards to block content in Vee and prevent answers to specific types of questions or topics.
  • Citations: Responses now include citations that link directly to the underlying data.
  • Definitions: You can ask Vee to define specific metrics, dimensions, or organizational concepts.
  • Download Charts: Instantly export charts directly to spreadsheets, images, or presentations.
  • Vee Logs: More query columns to track information about the questions your users are asking.
  • Preview Vee: Administrators can preview Vee's evolved capabilities in Studio.

Multiple Business Calendars

We've added support for multiple calendars, so you can easily upload and switch between fiscal, retail, and custom operational calendars to analyze your data against the timelines that matter most to your business. For more information, see The Time Context and Upload a Business Calendar.

Organize Reports

Find and manage your reports more efficiently. For more information, see Label a Report.

  • Labels: Create and assign custom labels to organize your personal reports into tailored categories, making them faster to locate.
  • Tags: Apply tags in Studio to categorize versioned reports, ensuring seamless organization across published reports.

Analyses Room Navigation

Find and switch between your analyses faster with new vertical tabs. For more information, see Analyses.

Embed Any Visualization

You can now select any visualization within an analysis to embed directly into your web application or portal. For more information, see Embed a Visualization.

Updated Dimension for Direct Span of Control Benchmarks

The Direct Span of Control Benchmarks can now be grouped or filtered by the Visier Occupation dimension.

Starts Rate Benchmarks

We are replacing the existing External Starts Rate benchmark to better capture all types of starts. The External Starts Rate benchmark excluded other key start categories, such as system starts and other starts.

The following new benchmark measures incorporate all start types:

  • Starts Rate - Overall Visier Benchmark™ - Trend
  • Starts Rate - My Visier Benchmark™ - Trend

Note: We've deprecated the previous External Starts Rate benchmark. For a full list of deprecated objects, see Deprecation notice: Blueprint Design Objects. The asterisk (*) in the metric display name indicates that there is a newer version of this metric available. Please use the new version as this metric will be deprecated in the future.

Quarterly Trend Benchmarks Time Series

Previously, Visier Benchmarks Trend values were generated quarterly, and historical benchmarks were updated in a new time series on a periodic basis. Now, we will publish a new time series for Visier Benchmarks Trend values each quarter containing both the newly generated benchmark values and updated historical benchmarks.

Updates to Visier Benchmarks

Visier Benchmarks Trend: We've added measured values for Q1 2026. For more information, see Visier Benchmarks.

Note: Trend exceptions

  • 90 Day Resignation Rate of New Starts
    • Measured values conclude with the most recent complete 90-day period.
    • No extrapolated values are provided.
  • 1 Year Resignation Rate of New Starts
    • Measured values conclude with the most recent complete 1-year period.
    • No extrapolated values are provided.

Updates to Visier's Job Taxonomy

Added 30 new jobs. For more information, see Job Architecture.

Workforce Intelligence

Patch updates

October 14 - Pilot Features

Get early access to new functionality before it reaches General Availability. As an administrator, you can turn on a pilot feature for yourself to try it out, then make it available tenant-wide. With this initial launch, preview security enhancements that grant you more granular control over users, user groups, permissions, data access sets, content packages, and object access. For more information, see Pilot Features and Pilot Features API.

October 7 - Single Sign-On (SSO) Configuration Improvements

We've streamlined the SSO setup experience. For more information, see Set Up Single Sign-On.

  • SP Metadata Download: Download Visier's Service Provider metadata file to automatically configure your SAML 2.0 settings in your identity provider.
  • IdP Metadata Import: Upload a metadata file from your identity provider to automatically populate required SSO configuration fields in Studio.
  • Expanded Multi-SSO Support: Configure multiple SSO integrations for any tenant type, provided each uses a unique issuer.
  • Updated SSO UX Layout: Global settings such as Enable SSO, Auto-provisioning, and the Bypass Users list are now grouped together under the SSO configurations to make it clear that changes to these settings must be saved before they take effect.

October 1 - Exclude the NonVersioned Suffix in Synchronization

You can now sync security artifacts to the non-versioned environment without appending a suffix to existing display names. When you sync without a suffix, your non-versioned artifacts keep their original display names. For more information, see “Synchronize security artifacts” in Non-Versioned Security.

October 1 - Bulk Archive and Delete Projects

Managing projects just got faster. Select multiple projects to archive or delete them in a single action. The DELETE /v1/admin/projects endpoint in the Projects API now supports bulk deletion for draft projects. For more information, see Change the Project Status.

September 23 - Debug Design Objects with Missing Data

You can now access debug information for design objects displaying "No data available" in Studio. Easily investigate why objects, such as analytic objects, properties, metrics, dimensions, and concepts, have missing data and navigate directly to their configurations to resolve the issue. For more information, see "Design objects with no data available" in Troubleshoot Data Discrepancies.

September 23 - Non-Versioned Security Improvements

We made the following non-versioned security updates.

  • Non-versioned synchronization now copies security filters to the non-versioned environment. When a security filter changes, the sync process cleans up outdated nested filter data so your non-versioned permissions stay accurate and up to date.
  • You can now manage all user group permission endpoints in the non-versioned environment. This closes a gap where only some user group endpoints supported non-versioned changes.

For more information, see Non-Versioned Security.

September 23 - Visier MCP Vee 2.0 Migration

You may need to update your MCP client configuration to work with Vee 2.0. Clients that read the tools response dynamically pick up this change automatically. Clients using a static or hard-coded list of tool names must call ask_vee_agent_question instead of ask_vee_question. For more information, see Connect to Visier MCP.

September 16 - Visier MCP Tool Selection Update

Visier MCP no longer suggests that MCP clients prioritize the Vee tool. Instead, it lets the client choose the most relevant tool. To use only Vee tools, disable other tools in your tenant configuration or explicitly request Vee in your question. For more information, see "Configure the MCP server" in Set Up Visier MCP.

September 16 - Non-Versioned User Group Permissions in Studio

You can now configure the permissions assigned to non-versioned user groups directly, without using the Permissions API or User Groups V2 API. This requires the Security (Write, API) or User Group Management (Write, API) profile capability. Previously, these permissions were read-only outside of the API. For more information, see Non-Versioned Security.

September 9 - AI-augmented Data Mapping General Availability

AI-augmented data mapping is now generally available. Accelerate data onboarding by automating source-to-target mapping setup, including property creation. With AI handling the configuration, you simply review and approve to onboard data into Visier. For more information, see Add a Mapping.

Note: Your organization must opt in to AI features. In the global workspace, click Settings > AI Features.

What's new

Build Faster with Studio Agent

Studio Agent replaces Studio Assistant to give you a more collaborative, guided experience when building your data model, offering two distinct modes. For more information, see Use Studio Agent.

  • Advise Mode: Ask questions and get clear, actionable guidance for your workflows.
  • Build Mode: Describe what you need in plain language, and Studio Agent proposes and executes a plan directly against your data model in Studio, with full review and approval by you.

Note: Your organization must opt in to AI features. In the global workspace, click Settings > AI Features.

AI-augmented Data Mapping

Accelerate data onboarding by automating source-to-target mapping setup, including property creation. With AI handling the configuration, you simply review and approve to onboard data into Visier.

Note:

  • This feature will be released in an upcoming patch.
  • Your organization must opt in to AI features. In the global workspace, click Settings > AI Features.

Visier MCP Supports Evolving Vee

Visier Query MCP will call Vee 2.0 tools if the user has the Vee 2.0 permission capability. For more information, see Connect to Visier MCP.

Table Sources General Availability

Table sources are now generally available. Table sources provide the ability to use SQL in data ingestion and source management for use cases such as handling GDPR data deletion requests. Table sources also support more complex transformations through SparkSQL and Materialized Views. For more information, see Use SQL with Table Sources.

Table sources now support receiving files through the Data Transfers room, such as manual upload or SFTP. Previously, data had to be loaded directly into a table source, via the Table Source API or a sub-set of data intake connectors.

Additionally, the following data in connectors can now use table sources:

  • Amazon Redshift
  • Google BigQuery
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • Snowflake (Legacy)

Google BigQuery Data Export Connector Limited Availability

We added Google BigQuery to our supported data export connectors. You can now push aggregated or detailed data exports directly from Visier to Google BigQuery. For more information, see Google BigQuery Data Export Connector.

Microsoft Viva Glint Connector Beta

Seamlessly export your survey response data from Microsoft Viva Glint directly into Visier to analyze employee engagement alongside your key HR metrics. For more information, see Microsoft Viva Glint.

Data Version Snapshots API

You can now use public APIs to create, retrieve, and delete data version snapshots. Data version snapshots allow you to preserve data versions and review them at any time in the future to see the original data that may have been distributed to wider audiences, such as executives, auditors, and public reporting. For more information, see Data Version Snapshots API.

Tenants V2 API Performance Improvements

The Tenants V2 API now executes more efficiently. For more information, see Tenants API.

We added:

  • A mask parameter to request only the fields you need. Requesting fewer fields returns results faster.
  • A higher fetch limit. The GET endpoint now returns up to 1,000 analytic tenants per call to match the V1 endpoint. To retrieve 1,000 tenants, you must exclude these fields in the mask parameter:
    • homeAnalysisId
    • homeAnalysisByUserGroup
    • clickThroughLink
    • defaultCurrency
