Visier Release Stages
Learn about our product release cycle and what to expect at each stage.
Overview
At Visier, we believe in continuous innovation shaped by customer feedback. Our iterative approach to product releases allows us to incorporate your feedback and rigorously test new features throughout development. This ensures the final solution meets your needs and allows you to adopt new features with confidence.
Release paths are flexible. Features may move directly to General Availability (GA) while others progress through successive stages from Beta to GA. If you're interested in our API release cycle, see API release stages.
Products and features are in GA unless otherwise labeled in the documentation. While we strive to make all products and features available to every customer and partner, some may have restricted access. These exceptions are labeled in the documentation. For more information, see Documentation labels.
Product release stages
Visier uses the following release stages for products and features.
Discovery
In the Discovery stage, we explore new product ideas by focusing on customer needs, potential solutions, and technical feasibility. During Discovery, we may share mockups, interactive prototypes, or user flows to gather initial reactions.
Functionality is communicated through the roadmap. To get involved, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. We'd love to discuss your use cases, pain points, and desired outcomes.
Beta
Beta products and features are nearly complete and ready for customer testing. Some functionality and aspects of the user experience may change as we make final refinements. Access is provided to a select group for a defined period to try the features and provide feedback. Technical support is not provided.
Functionality is communicated through the roadmap. To become a beta participant and help us shape the final experience, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. We will engage in biweekly check-ins with Beta participants to answer questions and gather feedback.
Limited Availability
Limited Availability products and features are considered complete and ready for production use, with access open to eligible customers. This controlled release allows us to work closely with you to address technology, security, and training considerations before a broader rollout. Technical support is not provided.
If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access by submitting an Enable a Feature case.
General Availability
General Availability products and features are complete, rigorously tested, and ready for production use. They are open to all entitled customers and backed by full technical support and service level agreements.
Share your feedback with us directly or through the Visier Service Portal.
API release stages
Visier uses the following release stages for APIs.
Alpha
The API may change in a breaking way without notice. The API route contains alpha; for example, /v1alpha/data/model/metrics. To use an Alpha API in your production environment, contact Visier. An API can move from Alpha to Beta release stage when Visier determines it has the correct parameters and responses. API routes in this release stage are subject to change when the API moves through release stages. You are encouraged to update routes in your API calls after its release stage changes.
Beta
The API interface is stable but its implementation may change. If there are backwards-incompatible changes, Visier communicates a deprecation notice to users. The API route contains beta; for example, /v1beta/data/model/metrics. To use a Beta API in your production environment, contact Visier. An API can move from Beta to General Availability release stage when it is in use by one or more production environments. API routes in this release stage are subject to change when the API moves through release stages. You are encouraged to update routes in your API calls after its release stage changes.
Limited Availability
The API is not available for general use due to performance or other non-functional reasons. The API documentation states that the API is Limited Availability. The API route contains the version number; for example, /v1/data/model/metrics. To use a Limited Availability API in your production environment, contact Visier. An API can move from Limited Availability to General Availability release stage after Visier resolves its performance or other non-functional issues.
General Availability
The API is available to use in your production environment. If there are backwards-incompatible or breaking changes, Visier releases a new API version. The API route contains the version number; for example, /v1/data/model/metrics. For more information about versions, see Version Control and Deprecation.
Deprecation
Products, features, and APIs that become outdated or are no longer recommended will undergo deprecation and be scheduled for removal in a future release. For a list of items in deprecation, see Deprecation Notices.
Documentation labels
You'll see labels in our documentation that will help you quickly identify the release stage, subscription requirements, and intended audience for a product, feature, or API.
- Release stage: Products and features are in General Availability unless otherwise labeled. To get access, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access to Limited Availability features by submitting an Enable a Feature case.
