Planning Capabilities

Capabilities control access to workflows and configurations available to planners.

Overview

Administrators can assign the following capabilities in the studio experience to control the Planning features and workflows that are available to users:

  • Plan Administrator: Everything in Planner, plus set the plan of record for a plan model.
  • Planner: Access, modify, create, and share plans.
  • Plan Contributor: Access and contribute to plans.

We recommend that you assign the Plan Contributor capability to users who are only required to fill out the workforce plan for their departments (for example, provide plan data, edit headcount, and submit plans to be reviewed). This will allow you to provide a simpler user experience for planners who participate in a limited capacity.

  • Use content packages to select the plan models that are available to planners during plan creation. For more information, see Create a Content Package.
  • To avoid losing important content, we recommend that you reassign plans before you delete users from the application. For more information, see Reassign Content to Another User.
