Summer 2019 Release Notes

Discover the improvements and fixes that were included in this release.

Platform

This section covers the improvements and fixes that we've added to increase the clarity and value of Visier People.

Analytics

  • 38784: We fixed an issue where some users saw zero values for prediction metrics. The prediction metrics should now work as expected.
  • 38949/39355: When adding focus to your Trend charts, you may have noticed that the data labels did not match the metric values shown in the data tip. We've fixed the Trend labels so they show the correct value.
  • 39028: We fixed an issue where data labels were missing from captures of Trend charts that had traffic lighting applied.
  • 39747: We fixed an issue where certain content packages caused duplicate metrics to appear in the Metric picker.
  • 40500: We fixed an issue where certain permission configurations caused missing attribute descriptions.

Solution

This section covers the changes to content, such as metrics and prebuilt analyses, that we've added to help you tackle more complex topics.

Organization

Improvements

  • We added a property to the Job History data type so you can see the converted total compensation amount for an individual's previous jobs.
  • The Internal Job Experience metric was added. Use this metric to determine how much experience an employee has in performing a particular role.
  • The Tenure with Current Manager property was added. Use this property to filter and group employees by the time they've spent reporting to their current manager.
  • The Employee to Manager Ratio metric was added as an alternative to the Group Span of Control metric. The Employee to Manager Ratio is the inverse of Manager Ratio and shows the number of employees compared to managers.

    Note:

    • Employee to Manager Ratio is hidden by default.
    • If you want to use Employee to Manager Ratio, we recommend that you hide Group Span of Control to avoid confusion.
  • The Active Assignments concept was added so you can filter and group employees by the number of assignments that are currently being fulfilled during the selected period.

Bug fixes

  • 36060: An explanation detailing the birth years for Traditionalists, Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z was added to the Generation concept.
  • 38685: We fixed an issue where some properties would take into account the trailing twelve months when calculating values for partial periods. You may see changes for the following property values in View Details: Training Expense, Training Hours, and Actuals for Total Cost of Workforce.
  • 38821: We fixed an issue with the Promotions Per Tenure Year property which prevented prediction data from being generated. The formula was updated so the property uses the Gregorian calendar instead of the Fiscal calendar.
  • 39248: The Veteran Status and Manager Status dimensions have been hidden because they were duplicates of the Veteran and Manager concepts.
  • 41017: We've updated the Manager Instability Count (Trailing 12 Months) so that it no longer counts an employee's very first manager. The formula will now exclude employees that go from having no manager to having a manager in the time period.

Diversity & Inclusion

Bug fixes

  • 37889: The charts in the Engagement topic contained filters and group bys that used a deprecated dimension. We've updated the charts so they use the Job Family, Gender, and Location dimensions.
  • 39065: The description for the Employees with Promotions Rate metric was updated. This metric shows the number of employees who were promoted, as a percentage of end of period headcount.

Learning

Planning

Improvements

  • The Range Penetration metric was added as an alternative to the Compa Ratio metric. Range Penetration allows you to measure an employee's position relative to the entire pay range and find exceptions to the pay scale, specifically employees who are outside the pay ranges (below the minimum or above the maximum).

    Note:

    • Range Penetration is hidden by default.
    • If you want to use Range Penetration, we recommend that you hide Compa Ratio to avoid confusion.

Bug fixes

  • 38555: You can now include placement data (e.g., promotions, demotions, and lateral moves) in your plans.
  • 38685: We fixed an issue where some properties would take into account the trailing twelve months when calculating values for partial periods. You may see changes for the following property values in View Details: Training Expense, Training Hours, and Actuals for Total Cost of Workforce.
  • 38972: The Budgeted TCOW metrics will no longer include employees who have a null value (N/A) for compensation.

Talent

Improvements

  • Changes were made to the Job Transition prediction model to help you better predict how many people will need to be replaced due to internal movements. The model will now be driven by the Internal Placement by Hire concept instead of the Lateral Move concept.

  • We added a property to the Job History data type so you can see the converted total compensation amount for an individual's previous jobs.
  • We added the Total Hours Paid concept so you can filter and group employees by the total hours paid.

Bug fixes

  • 37889: The charts in the Engagement topic contained filters and group bys that used a deprecated dimension. We've updated the charts so they use the Job Family, Gender, and Location dimensions.
  • 39065: The description for the Employees with Promotions Rate metric was updated. This metric shows the number of employees who were promoted, as a percentage of end of period headcount.

Talent Acquisition

Improvements

  • For consistency, the Offer Amount and Offer Salary Amount properties have been renamed to Offer Base Pay Amount.
  • The explanations for all Process concepts have been updated to include definitions for "stage" and "at or past stage."
  • We added a property to the Job History data type so you can see the converted total compensation amount for an individual's previous jobs.
  • We've made the following changes to metric display names:
    • Requisitions Closed Filled → Requisitions Closed Filled in Period
    • Requisitions Closed Unfilled → Requisitions Closed Unfilled in Period
    • Requisitions → Requisitions Active in Period
    • New Applicants → New Applicants in Period
    • New in Process → New in Process in Period
    • Applicants in Pipeline → Applicants Active in Period
  • To provide a better understanding of our process metrics and attributes, we've renamed the Hiring Process to Requisition Process and the Normal Process to Applicant Process.

Bug fixes

  • 37508: The Hire Type property and dimension have been deprecated because they were duplicates of the Requisition Reason property and dimension.
  • 38164: We updated the formulas for the following metrics: Position Filled for Closed Filled Requisition, Budgeted Base Pay for Filled Positions, Requisitions Closed Filled, and Requisitions Closed Unfilled. These metrics will now take into account requisitions that only ever had the Closed status.
  • 39065: The description for the Employees with Promotions Rate metric was updated. This metric shows the number of employees who were promoted, as a percentage of end of period headcount.

Workforce Safety

Improvements

We've added the following new metrics and concepts that look at safety incidents: Total Safety Events Count, Total Safety Event Frequency, Fatalities Count, Fatalities per Employee, Fatality Frequency, and Is Fatality.
