Winter 2019 Release Notes

Discover the improvements and fixes that were included in this release.

Solution

This section covers the changes to content, such as metrics and prebuilt analyses, that we've added to help you tackle more complex topics.

All Solutions

Improvements

  • 31669: The display names for Performance Score/Rating metrics have been updated so they follow a consistent naming convention. All Performance Score metrics have been renamed to Performance Rating.

Bug fixes

  • 32805: The metrics: Employees with Demotions Rate, Employees with Internal Placements Rate, Employees with Lateral Moves Rate, and Employees with Promotions Rate were calculated using the average headcount. These metrics have been updated and are now calculated using the headcount.
  • 30499: We fixed an issue where attributes that are shared across multiple subjects (e.g., Location and Gender) would sometimes display inaccurate descriptions. These attributes will now take the description from their data type.

Organization

What's new

  • Multiple assignments metrics have been added. These metrics are useful for understanding the workload of employees.
  • Visier Benchmark: Trend and Visier Benchmark: Report metrics have been added. Use Visier Benchmark: Trend metrics to compare your organization's performance against an accurate measure of change in the market and Visier Benchmark: Report metrics to make reliable point in time comparisons.

Improvements

  • 31850: The Headcount - New Hire with Performance metric considered a new hire as an employee who was hired in the last 6 months of the selected period. To ensure that new hires have had their first performance evaluation, the formula was rewritten so that it no longer uses the New Hire filter. The metric now spans a 24 month period and considers only the employees who had their first ever performance score within that period.
    • The New Hire filter was not changed as part of this update and is still set to 6 months. This ensures that when the concept of New Hire is applied to turnover rates or learning activities it does not span 24 months.
    • The New Hire concept can be configured to the time window commonly used by your organization. The Visier default of 6 months is based on the average of organizational practice, which ranges from 3 months to 12 months.

Bug fixes

  • 32210: The Span of Control metric included direct reports who were terminated. The metric has been updated to only account for active employees. The metric display name has been changed to Group Span of Control.

Note: Under certain conditions inactive employees are still included in the calculation. We're aiming to fix this issue in an upcoming release.

  • 33102: The display names for Starts and Exit metrics were inconsistent. We have added the word Employee to the display names for all concepts, metrics, properties, etc.
  • 34002: A chart in the Monthly people review analysis could not be displayed because it contained metrics that were deprecated. The chart has been updated to show the Promotion Events Count and Lateral Move Events Count.

Talent

What's new

  • Organizational Network Analysis (ONA) scores generated by a third party can now be loaded into the application. The Network Impact topic was added to Guidebook. The Employee Network Influence, Employee Network Diversity and Employee Network Centrality metrics were added to help you explore how network effects impact the organization.

Bug fixes

  • 29992: The Revenue metric did not account for currency conversion. The formula has been updated to account for currency conversion.
  • 32304: The Budgeted Per Employee metrics included all employees in the analysis context regardless of whether or not the employees received the particular pay type (e.g. Benefits). These metrics will now only account for employees who have received the corresponding pay type.
  • 33965: The Time Since Promotion metric included all employees who had a promotion. To align with the structure of the other headcount and employee metrics, the Time Since Promotion metric now only includes active employees who had a promotion.

Talent Acquisition

Bug fixes

  • 33378: The description for the Applicants for Active Requisitions metric was misleading. Updates were made to the metric description and explanation. The Applicants for Active Requisitions metric shows the number of applicants for requisitions that are active, during the selected period.
  • 30563: We added an explanation for the Actual Change per Employee Total Cost of Workforce metric.
  • 34139: To make the attribute display names more descriptive, we have made the following changes: OrgID is now Organization ID, OrgID1 is now Cost Center, and OrgID2 is now Direct Manager.

Planning

Improvements

  • 30219: Internal hires had been calculated using the historical rate at which employees progressed within the organization to fill open positions, or placements. Visier People: Talent introduced different metrics analyzing the historical actuals for these events and provide a more precise count of where internal progression is taking place. We’ve updated the Visier Planning Internal Hire assumption metric to align with the structure of the metrics being used in Visier People: Talent, providing more accurate projections of future internal progression and allowing Talent and Planning calculations to be compared consistently. The metrics: Internal Placement Events Count, Internal Replacement Events Rate, and Employee with Internal Placement Seasonality have been removed.

Bug fixes

  • 29992: The Finance Budget TCOW and Finance Forecast TCOW metrics did not account for currency conversion. The formulas have been updated to account for currency conversion.

Platform

This section covers the improvements and fixes that we've added to increase the clarity and value of Visier People.

Analytics

  • 31693: The horizontal scroll bar in the Time picker was difficult to see, so we improved it by making it darker.
  • 33288: The slider in the Time picker would sometimes show duplicate labels or uneven period lengths. This will no longer happen.
  • 32970: If you had a long list of Groups, you would not have been able to select some of your Groups because the vertical scroll bar was missing. We have added a vertical scroll bar so you can access all your Groups.
  • 33206: Charts in a Visier analysis would display even though there was no data available. When there is no data available, charts will now be hidden from the analysis.
  • 33341: Charts in the Employee Starts topic for the Organization guidebook will now load correctly.
  • 32103: We fixed an issue where labels for stacked Breakdown and Trend Breakdown visuals did not appear even though the charts were set to show values for each segment. This occurred when the charts were viewed as a card in Captures, Analyses and exported files. Note that labels will be hidden if there is insufficient space.
  • 32598: We fixed an issue where small charts in an analysis would randomly display zeros instead of the correct data value.
  • 33157: We fixed an issue with the Forecaster for the Pipeline Trend visual. It now works as expected and will generate a Time to Fill prediction based on the current state of your pipeline.
  • 33052: Sometimes when a filter is applied to the Drivers visual, the data and data labels would appear misaligned. This will no longer happen.
  • 33377: The Movement Breakdown visual was displaying incorrect results for users who have two or more user roles. This has now been fixed and the Movement Breakdown visual works as expected.
  • 34238: When viewing a Data Table export, you may have noticed that the display names for custom Groups were missing. This will no longer happen and you will see the name of your custom Groups in the exports.
  • 34116: The Movement Summary visual would not display if a value in the chart did not meet the aggregate threshold. This will no longer happen and the Movement Summary chart will appear and show N/A values, where applicable.
  • 32349: We fixed an issue where excluding values from a Member Selection concept would result in an incorrect chart.
  • 34901: Sometimes the Filter dialog would take too long to open. We made some changes to speed up the loading time.

Planning

  • 33293: Since you can analyze the planned population in Explore, you won't need to access the population for a specific cell from the planning grid. The Export Employees List button has been removed.

Admin

  • 32264: When viewing Prediction metrics, you will no longer get an error.
  • 32636: When assigning User Groups, you can now exclude users who have been disabled.
  • 33061: We fixed an issue where users could not access compensation data even though they were assigned a role that gave them full access to all data.
  • 32683: We fixed an issue where the Lineage column in the Solution Definition was mostly blank and not being populated correctly.
