Discover the improvements and fixes that were included in this release.
Platform
This section covers the improvements and fixes that we've added to increase the clarity and value of Visier People.
Analytics
What's new
- We've made changes to the analysis authoring experience that will make your data-driven stories richer and more engaging. The analysis layout is now more flexible. You can create column layouts and have different card types next to each other (e.g. text next to a chart). We've also increased the width of the content area so you can fit more cards in a row to create better dashboards. Other enhancements include an improved drag-and-drop experience, simpler resizing options, and the ability to edit chart titles inline.
- The Info panel provides contextual information about the visualizations, selected metrics, and data points. To improve the user experience when it comes to data exploration, we've updated the visual design and layout of the Info panel. We've also consolidated and placed chart actions at the top of the Info panel.
- As part of the Info Panel redesign, we've moved the chart legends from the Info Panel to the bottom of the visualization. This will improve readability and ensure the legend is captured with the visual. Check out the chart legends when building or using a Trend visual.
- Easily take action when exploring chart items or data points with the new right-click Visual Item Actions menu. Perform actions such as drill down, open View Details, and more.
- You can now select attribute values to exclude when filtering. This will allow you to quickly omit a few values from your view, especially if the attribute has many values such as Job Name.
- Visier People can now be used in Spanish.
- To ensure that Process metrics are applicable across every context, we're grouping all process outcomes into two generic categories: Success and Fail. With these categories, we can support multiple success and fail outcomes. (e.g., Success having outcomes of hired and hired yet to start). By highlighting the Fail category in the Pipeline Flow visual, you will highlight all of the outcomes defined (e.g., abandoned and rejected). If more granularity is required, an additional filter can be applied to see only one outcome of fail such as rejected.
Bug fixes
- 32548/32561: When creating a Group, users cannot select all members and then deselect the members they want to exclude when the list of members exceeds 500. This workaround is no longer needed as you now have the option of excluding members when filtering.
- 48053: We fixed an issue where a small number of users saw a difference between the values that appeared in an analysis and its export.
- 48414: When looking at Internal Movement metrics, you may have noticed that event dates were not appearing in View Details. We've fixed this issue and you should now see the event date, listed next to Info as of, for each individual member.
- 48557: Sometimes, when attempting to View Details in a Trend visual, an error message would appear saying that "There are no details to display for the current selection" even though there were data points. We've fixed this issue and you should now see data in View Details.
- 48493: We fixed an issue where guidebook topics would not appear in guidebook if the analysis in the topic only contained Movement Breakdown or Movement Summary visuals.
- 49209: When viewing an exported analysis or an analysis in Presentation mode, you may have received an error message saying "An unknown error has occurred." We've fixed the issue and this should no longer happen.
- 49509: When looking at a Pipeline Trend of Requisitions Active in Period, you may have noticed that the chart items were mislabelled. We've fixed this issue and the chart items should have the correct labels.
Admin
What's new
- We've made minor changes to the design and layout of the Projects page to improve the user experience.
Bug fixes
- 39181: We fixed an issue where Actual and Budgeted Compensation properties such as Actual Base Pay and Budgeted Base Pay could not be added to View Details for some subjects and events.
- 42526: When creating a new guidebook topic in the Admin Panel, the application would stop working if you entered a display name that was close to the maximum character limit. We've fixed this issue. The topic display name can be up to 50 characters in length.
- 48552: You will no longer get an error message when duplicating guidebooks in the Admin Panel.
- 45051: When tagging properties to a subject category, you may have noticed that some properties would continue to appear under the Others category instead of the specified category. We've fixed this issue and the properties should now appear in the category that they are tagged under.
Known issues
- SSO users will not be able to log into the Visier People mobile app on any iPad, iPad Air, or iPad Pro device with iOS 13 or later installed. This issue is a result of changes by Apple that cause these devices to act like a MacBook. Browser based access to Visier People will continue to work but the mobile app (specifically SSO) relies on the correct declaration of the device and operating system. We and the Apple developer community are still looking for ways to resolve this issue. We will provide an update once a reliable solution has been found.
Solution
This section covers the changes to content, such as metrics and prebuilt analyses, that we've added to help you tackle more complex topics.
All Solutions
Improvements
- We've enabled additional metrics that can be used with the Drivers visual. Drivers analysis allows you to identify the employee groups that have the greatest impact on a metric.
Organization
What's new
- To support your organization's response to the COVID-19 crisis, we've made the COVID-19 Health dataset available in Visier People. This dataset will be updated daily and includes the number of confirmed cases, recovered patients, and deaths by location.
- We've added new metrics, concepts, and Employee properties that will allow you to assess and monitor the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on your employee population. Answer questions like: how close are employees to virus hot spots, who can be productive from home, and how will a travel ban impact our business?
- We've published new analyses in the guidebook that will help you you ask the right questions when developing an emergency response plan. Find these analyses in the Crisis Management topic.
- Use the Reporting Layer Count metric to see the number of reporting layers within a selected population.
- Use the Commute Time property to group employees by the length of time it takes them to commute to their place of work.
- Use the following Employee Exit metrics to analyze employees who have recently exited the organization:
- Employee Exit Average Tenure
- Employee Exit Total Tenure
Improvements
- For clarity, we've renamed the Employee Starts Model dimension to Employee Starts Hierarchy. Group any Employee Starts metric by the Employee Starts Hierarchy dimension to see how the categories associated with an employee joining the organization contribute to the overall total.
- The Average Headcount metric is now visible in Explore and can be selected in the Metric picker. Many of our metrics are derived using the Average Headcount metric so it's important to understand how it is calculated.
- Use the Headcount Dashboard for Supervisors analysis to monitor and quickly scan for changes in headcount for supervisors. You can find the analysis under Organization Overview in the guidebook.
Bug fixes
- 42573: The Registered Users metric was not working as expected. We've fixed this issue and the metric will show the number of all registered and enabled users at the end of the period.
- 46474: The following Multiple Assignment metrics were updated so they aggregate on the Assignment ID instead of the Hierarchy ID: Active Assignments, Assignments, Assignments Ended, Assignments Ended Rate, Assignments Started, Assignments Started Rate and Average Active Assignments.
Learning
What's new
- We've added the Learning Completions in Period property so you can now see the number of learning activities an employee has completed in the selected period in View Details.
Bug fixes
- 48251: We've removed the Employees with Updated Skills Profiles metric because it was not working as expected.
Planning
What's new
- As the main planner you can now create an Exploration Snapshot to get a comprehensive view of the entire plan. The Exploration Snapshot combines the details from segments across all plans to generate aggregated values. This will allow main planners to analyze plan metrics using segments across all subplans.
- You can now reopen multiple consolidated subplans at once, so subplanners can change the values.
- The consolidation currency is the common reporting currency across all plans. You will no longer be able to change the consolidation currency once the main plan or subplan has been created. Users can still change the display currency to view data in their local currency.
Talent
What's new
- Using the Movement Summary and Movement Breakdown visuals, you can now analyze employee movement in terms of full-time equivalents (FTEs) and cost.
- The Nine Box Overall Rating and Nine Box Performance Rating dimensions and properties were added so you can assess employees on their general performance and future potential.
- We've added Employee Experience metrics to help you analyze sentiments shared in employee surveys. Use these metrics to ensure your employees are happy and engaged. Find out how changes in the organization impact employee attitudes towards the organization and its leaders.
- Use the following Employee Exit metrics to analyze employees who have recently exited the organization:
- Employee Exit Average Budgeted Base Pay
- Employee Exit Average Compa Ratio
- Employee Exit Average Performance Rating
- Employee Exit Total Budgeted Base Pay
- We've added Annual and Budgeted Compensation metrics that can be grouped by the Compensation Item attribute. The following metrics allow you to see the item by item details of a group's annual compensation:
- Annual Compensation Amount
- Annual Compensation Amount per Employee
- Annual Compensation Amount per FTE
- Budgeted Compensation Amount
- Budgeted Compensation Amount per Employee
- Budgeted Compensation Amount per FTE
- For a different perspective on employee exits, use the Regrettable and Not Regrettable concepts to group exits by the impact it has on the organization. To configure these concepts, contact Visier Support.
- Use the Hourly Rate concept to filter or group employees by their hourly pay ranges.
Bug fixes
- 46476: We've updated the formula for the Range Penetration metric so it takes different currencies into account.
- 48251: We've removed the Employees with Updated Skills Profiles metric because it was not working as expected.
Talent Acquisition
What's new
- Use the Requisition Active in Period, Requisition Closed in Period, and Requisition Opened in Period concepts as filters to analyze the status of your recruiting pipeline.
- We've added the following metrics to help with data validation. Use the analysis titled: Visier data validation analysis to validate your Talent Acquisition data.
- Previous Requisition Status
- All Requisition IDs Count
- All Applicant IDs Count
Improvements
- For clarity, we've renamed the following Offer Amount properties. These properties represent the amount the applicant is given at a particular time:
- Offer Base Pay Amount → Latest Offer Base Pay Amount
- Offer Relocation Amount → Latest Offer Relocation Amount
- Offer Signing Bonus Amount → Latest Offer Signing Bonus Amount
- To align with naming conventions, we've renamed the following Process concepts:
- Active Applicant (Campus Process) → Active in Campus Process
- Active Applicant (Recruiter and Business Process) → Active in Recruiter and Business Process
- Hired Applicant (Applicant Process) → Hired in Applicant Process
- Hired Applicant (Campus Process) → Hired in Campus Process
- You can now see the Applicant Stage property in View details when looking at Requisition and Applicant subjects.
- We've changed how we define an internal candidate so you no longer have to flag internal candidates in your source files. We will now automatically flag candidates as internal if they have an existing employee profile.
Bug fixes
- 44787: To avoid confusion, we've changed the default properties that are used to uniquely identify Applicants and Candidates. Applicants will be identified by the Applicant ID while Candidates will be identified by their Candidate ID.
- 47641: We fixed an issue where the Active in Applicant Process and Active in Campus Process concepts counted applicants regardless of the recruiting process that they were apart of. We've updated the formulas for these two concepts. The Active in Applicant Process concept accounts for applicants in any active stage of the Applicant Process and the Active in Campus Process concept accounts for applicants in any active stage of the Campus Process.
Workforce
What's new
- We've added Individual Production metrics to provide an individual quantitative productivity measure for employees. These metrics will help you identify, retain, and reward the highest producers. You can also improve productivity across the organization by identifying and applying the drivers of high output.
- We've added the What-if Hourly Pay & Overtime model, which will allow you to project the total workforce cost if you change the amount employees work, the amount employees are absent, the ability to add more hours or replace absences at straight time, the average hourly rate, and the mix of overtime premiums (1.5, 2, and 3 times).
- We've added the DART Injury Count property so you can now see the number of Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART) injuries an employee has experienced during the selected period in View Details. We've also added the Employee DART Injuries attribute to help you identify employees who are frequently injured.
- Use the Hourly Rate concept to filter or group employees by their hourly pay ranges.
Visier Benchmarks
New measured values for Visier Benchmarks Trends
With the Winter 2020 release, we've added measured values for Q3 2019.
Due to changes in the employee population that Visier Benchmarks are based on, you may notice that there are fewer population slices available in the Q3 2019 dataset. If a particular benchmark slice is missing a value for Q3 2019, then the recent values that have been extrapolated will also be removed. This issue does not affect Visier Benchmarks Reports.
Despite the missing values, all published benchmark values meet our high quality and confidentiality standards. We are currently working on a new time series for Visier Benchmarks Trends that will fix this issue. We will provide more information once the time series is available.
Visier Benchmarks Trends
The current breakdown of Visier Benchmarks Trends:
- Measured values from Q1 2015 to Q3 2019.
- Extrapolated values from Q4 2019 to Q3 2020.
Visier Benchmarks Reports
The current breakdown of Visier Benchmarks Reports:
- Measured values for 2017 and 2018.
- Extrapolated values for 2019 and 2020.
Summary of Visier Benchmarks dataset
The Visier Benchmarks dataset was last updated October 2019.
- Benchmark values available: 641,306
- Employee records in dataset: 6.2 million
