Platform
This section covers the changes to the platform.
What's new
Filter shortcuts: We’re making it simpler and faster for users to focus on the most relevant insights with filter shortcuts. Use shortcuts to set a default filter or choose from a list of curated filters so you can save time and quickly get answers.
Compare room improvements: We've resigned some of the workflows in the Compare room to enhance navigation and to help you effectively compare subject members and groups such as employees, candidates, and requisitions. Changes include layout improvements, additional visual cues in the comparison grid, monetary values presented in both the default and local currencies, and data tips for calculated cells to help you understand how the values in subject comparisons and groups are calculated.
Internal comparison: Compare your performance to other parts of your organization without violating security and privacy rules. See how you stack up against your peers, manager’s team, or the entire organization.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
- This capability is not generally available to all customers until a future release. If you are interested in this capability, please contact Visier Technical Support on the process to enable this capability. Visier reserves the right to limit the number of customers participating in the limited availability period.
Drivers visual user interface refresh: The Drivers visual has a new look. The clean and simple user interface makes the Drivers visual more approachable and the data easier to understand.
Job Family in the Career Journey visual: Job names are often too detailed, with too many unique values, so we've added support for job families to the Career Journey visual. Using job families is a good way to get a smaller number of values and lends more meaning to the potential career paths for employees. Simply switch between the attributes in the visual title.
Visualize moves in and moves out: Visualize the movement of subject members by their source or destination from the Movement Summary visual to answer questions such as: Where did the employees who moved out of my analysis population go? To do this, select a movement metric (Net change, Moves in, Moves out, or Moves within), and then click Explore sources or Explore destinations under Try Next in the Insights tab of the Info panel. You'll be taken to a Breakdown visual that shows the employees who moved into/out of your analysis population grouped by their source/destination.
Analysis sharing improvements: We’ve expanded the analysis sharing capability to Guidebook topics. Also, users will now receive an email notification whenever an analysis is shared with them.
- Analyses can be shared, but email notifications will not delivered to recipients in the Preview release.
Analysis Update Time Period workflow enhancement: Previously, the Update automatically option only supported monthly granularities. You can now set a time granularity (weeks, months, quarters, and years) when you set the analysis time period to update automatically.
Embed a Visier visual in your tools and portals: You can now copy a snippet of code to embed a Visier visual within your internal tools and portals. This allows you to show the first visual of an analysis and view it in the context of your day-to-day work. If more information is needed, users can click on the embedded visual to view the full analysis in Visier.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
Presentation mode improvements: We've simplified the presentation mode workflow so that your analysis will automatically show in full screen when you click the Present analysis button. You can also now jump to a specific slide when presenting.
Filter captures: It's easier than ever to sort and find the capture you want to add to an analysis. Just use the advanced filters to find captures based on time, visual type, or metric.
Automatically update Visier Benchmark Series to the latest version: You can now set the Visier Benchmark Series concept to always use the latest version. This means you no longer have to manually change this concept when a new Trend series is released.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
Changes to Clarity, Visier's default color palette: We've changed the color order of the Clarity color palette to ensure that semantic colors don’t appear first. Semantic colors denote standard value states and have the same meaning in most industries. For example, the color red generally means bad or negative. The new color order will be applied to existing captures and visualizations that use this color palette.
Color palettes: Administrators can create custom color palettes that can be applied to the visualizations in the solution experience. Easily design color palettes to meet the needs of your users. Create a palette to reflect your organization's branding, an accessible palette for those with color vision deficiencies, and more. Administrators can also set the default color palette for all users. Changing the default color palette will not affect existing captures or visualizations. We’ve also increased the number of visualizations that support color palettes.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
Network access improvements: Administrators can now separately restrict access to the solution and access to exporting data from the solution.
Advanced historical analysis: We added a capability that allows administrators to decide who can analyze the organization’s history. By default, users do not have Advanced Historical Analysis and will only see information relevant to their current team.
- This capability is not generally available to all customers until a future release. If you are interested in this capability, please contact Visier Technical Support on the process to enable this capability. Visier reserves the right to limit the number of customers participating in the limited availability period.
Data connectors: Connect your data source systems directly to Visier to retrieve transactional data records. Our Spring 2021 release supports connectors with Workday, UKG, Greenhouse, and iCIMS.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
- The Greenhouse connector is not generally available to all customers until a future release. If you are interested in this capability, please contact Visier Technical Support on the process to enable this capability. Visier reserves the right to limit the number of customers participating in the limited availability period.
Project tracking information: We’ve added text fields to the Basic Information tab of projects. Use the Explanation and Designer Notes fields to communicate and record information about the project and the changes being made. You can also download the Project Summary Export to audit the projects that have been published.
Data push API: Visier’s public data push API allows you to build your own automated data transmission integrations with Visier and removes the need for SFTP.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
- This capability is not generally available to all customers until a future release. If you are interested in this capability, please contact Visier Technical Support on the process to enable this capability. Visier reserves the right to limit the number of customers participating in the limited availability period.
Generate an API key: Administrators can generate and copy an API key in Visier to use in API functions. API keys do not expire.
- Configuration is required for this feature.
Renamed Predictions room in the studio experience: We've changed the name of the Predictions room to Data Enrichments. If you need to configure the predictive models in the studio experience, click Model > Data Enrichments on the navigation bar.
Terminology change in the studio experience: We've changed the Preview Application button to Preview Solution throughout the studio experience to align with our naming conventions.
Bug fixes
46941 - Add focus workflow: We’ve fixed an issue with the Table visual where data was being filtered when focusing on an attribute.
59486 - Data access settings for referenced objects: When configuring data access sets, the access level that you’ve selected (Detailed, Aggregate, or None) from the parent view will now be applied to referenced objects. Note that you must go to the Advanced view for the referenced object to change the access level of subsequent references.
60575, 63576 - Currency conversion in the Compare room: Monetary values in the Compare room are now displayed in both the default and local currency.
63680, 69244, 72771 - Download analysis as PowerPoint: We fixed some issues with the analysis PPT export that caused the Info panel to disappear from some charts. In addition, the summary information displayed in the Info panel will no longer truncate.
63822 - Detailed data exports: We fixed an issue with the detailed data exports where incorrect display names were appearing for attributes that have subject references such as Employee ID.
68847 - High precision for the Table visual: Exact numbers for metric values will now be displayed in the Info panel when you turn on the high precision option for the Table visual.
69670 - Custom reference lines expressed as a percentage: We fixed an issue in how we store reference line values. Unfortunately, we could not apply this change to existing captures and visualizations. If your custom reference line uses a percentage, you will notice that the value is now 100 times larger. For example, if the reference line was set to 50%, the reference line will appear as 5000%. To fix this, manually change the reference line value in your existing captures and visualizations. For more information, see Reference line showing 5000% rather than 50% after Spring Release 2021.
71283 - Suggested metrics: Metrics that are hidden via a content package will no longer appear as a suggested metric in the Metric picker.
71762 - Data labels on the Trend visual: When viewing an analysis or analysis PPT export, you may have noticed that data labels were missing from Trend visuals that did not include a group by. We’ve fixed this issue and the data labels will appear as expected.
72089 - Analysis Editor: We fixed an issue that caused a tooltip to remain on the screen.
Visier People
This section covers the changes to the content of the Visier People solution.
All
Bug fixes
65237 - Usage metrics: We fixed a data mapping issue with the Usage metrics that caused a disproportionate amount of users to be categorized under the Unknown attribute value.
Organization
Improvements
COVID-19 vaccination data: We've expanded the COVID-19 vaccination model to track vaccinated employees. Use the following metrics to understand the current vaccination status of the organization's employees against COVID-19: Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Status Count, Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Status Ratio, and Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Status Change. For more information, check out the analysis named Monitor Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Status in the COVID-19 Crisis Management topic of the Visier People Guidebook.

51432 - Reallocated Guidebook analyses: We've reallocated some Guidebook analyses because they were tagged to the wrong application.
- The following analyses were added:
- Performance & Recognition
- Risk Management
- The following analyses were removed and a subscription to Talent Essentials is now required for access:

Learning
Bug fixes
64881 - Process metrics: We've updated the formula for the following metrics to only count those that are currently at the specific stage. Previously these metrics counted those who were at or past the stage.
- Count in Approved Stage (Learning Activity Process)
- Count in In Progress Stage (Learning Activity Process)
- Count in Registered Stage (Learning Activity Process)
- Count in Requested Stage (Learning Activity Process)
69551 - Data validation analysis for Learning: We've renamed the Learning Completions - Validation analysis to Learning - Validation.
Planning
What's new
Planning data bulk import: Quickly edit plan values and assumption models across all levels of your plan outside of Visier. Simply download a CSV file that matches the structure of your plan or assumption model, make changes to the values in the CSV file using an editor like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, and then upload the CSV file to import the values back to the solution.
Preserve plan values: When adding a new dimension to your plan segmentation, any previously entered plan values, above the inserted dimension, will now be preserved by default. Plan values from the baseline will be used to populate the newly added dimension and below.
Summary information on the Planning home screen: Determine the status of your planning project, at a glance, using the summary information on the Planning home screen. You can now see the number of plans, submitted plans, overdue subplans, and more.
Bug fixes
Assumption models: You can now delete an assumption model that you own even if it is being used in a plan. Note that deleting the assumption model will not affect the values of the plan where the assumption model is attached. Planners will be notified that the assumption model has been deleted when they open the plan.
Talent Acquisition
What's new
Candidate relationship management (CRM) for Talent Acquisition: We've added a data model that tracks the acquisition and conversion of candidates to applicants. You can now analyze your organization's prospects (candidates that are added into a talent pool in order to encourage job applications) and talent pools (groups of candidates organized by interest who may be a potential fit for jobs). Use the CRM metrics to analyze the way your organization acquires new candidates and converts them to qualified applicants for requisitions. Gain insights to improve your candidate to applicant conversion rate, manage the workload and performance of your candidate sourcer, and improve the effectiveness of your candidate marketing campaigns. For more information, check out the analysis named A Step-by-Step Guide to Analyzing Sourcing and Candidate Relationship Management in the Discover Insights topic of the Visier People Guidebook.

- The following analyses were added:
- How are the costs of employee benefits changing?
- How are the costs of direct compensation changing?
64243 - Survey Analysis tag: We've added a Survey Analysis tag to better categorize some of the content that was previously tagged under Employee Experience. This will make it easier for you to find the metrics and dimensions you need when you want to analyze the raw results of any survey.
Workforce
Improvements
Display name change: We've changed the display name of the Actual Hours Worked event to Hours Recorded to reflect the fact that the event captures both worked hours and not-worked hours.
Visier Benchmarks
Visier Benchmarks Trends
- New measured values for Visier Benchmarks Trends: We've added measured values for Q4 2020.
- Visier Benchmark Trend Series 2021: We’ve created the Visier Benchmark Trend Series for 2021. To access the 2021 series, update the Visier Benchmark Series concept to TS_2021. This must be done before the Summer 2021 release.
