Platform

This section covers the changes to the platform.

What's new

New supported languages: Visier can now be used in Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish (Spain).

Card carousel: When authoring an analysis, you can now add a Carousel card to display two or more visuals in a slideshow format that viewers can cycle through.

Home: Administrators can now set a default analysis to display to users when they first sign in to Visier. If enabled, the default analysis is the first room that a user sees when they sign in to Visier. Home allows you to set the default analysis to a dashboard-like analysis to give your users a quick overview of key data when they first open Visier.

  • Configuration is required for this feature.

People Insights Powered by Visier.AI: Users can now access analyses powered by Visier AI. These analyses use algorithms to provide relevant insights based on a trigger population (such as an employee who recently left the organization). Analysis templates are pre-built by Visier and dynamically change to provide information relevant to the employee you select for analysis.

  • This capability is not generally available to all customers until a future release. If you are interested in this capability, please contact your Client Success Manager (CSM). If you are unsure who your CSM is, please create a technical support case through the Visier Customer Portal. Visier reserves the right to limit the number of customers participating in the limited availability period.

Request access to an analysis: If you open an analysis and you don't have access to view it, you can now request permission from the analysis owner. The owner of the analysis will get an email with your request.

Send analysis emails based on metric triggers: Set up a conditional delivery rule to email insights to users when specific events or changes in the data occur.

Add a reference line for the overall value of another metric: A new reference line type that lets you quickly compare the overall value of another metric against the data in your visual. With this type of reference line, the filters and group bys in your visual are maintained when the value of another metric is displayed.

Additional dynamic time filtering option for cohorts and time-based attributes: When defining cohorts, you can now filter on a specific time range in the past, relative to the visual time (last n period). For example, you can analyze the increase in average base pay for employees who recently received a promotion. You can do this by defining a cohort population that includes employees who received a promotion in the last 12 months. The cohort population will automatically change based on the visual time, so you don't have to update the filter as time passes. As a result, you can repeat the analysis without having to recreate the cohort. The last n periods option is also available when filtering your analysis population by time-based attributes such as Start Date.

Flag and fix: Quickly report incorrect values or missing data and suggest corrections in the solution experience for an administrator to review. These data issues can be fixed in a timely manner as administrators can now make and publish corrections in Visier without having to wait for source systems to be updated.

  • Configuration is required for this feature.

Bubble Grid architecture: We've enhanced the internal architecture of the Bubble Grid visual. As a result of this change, the Bubble Grid visual will now show the overall value of a metric if there is no data available for any of the attribute values you've selected when adding focus.

Hide zeros, null (N/A), and unchanged values from the History visual: To reduce the amount of noise when exploring the attribute values for employees, candidates, requisitions, and more, you can now hide zero, null (N/A), and unchanged values.

Trend Breakdown visual improvements: We've increased the maximum number of data items that can be displayed in a Trend Breakdown visual from 14 to 30. When building a Trend Breakdown, you can now set the maximum number of data items that appear and add a reference line to quickly summarize or compare data.

Traffic lighting improvements: You can now apply traffic lighting to your visual based on the percentage change in the overall value of another metric. With the Difference from Metric Overall rule type, each visual item is compared to the overall value of another metric. You can also now add traffic lighting to the Table visual.

Update to the data failure notification email: If a data load fails, Visier emails a load failure notification to a list of specified users. In this release, we changed the return email address to no-reply@visier.com. If your company uses email spam filters, please add no-reply@visier.com to your list of allowed senders to ensure that users continue to receive data failure notification emails from Visier.

Additional data connectors: Visier now supports data connectors with Amazon Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server, Google BigQuery, and Snowflake.

Usage data for Studio: You can now view data about how your users are using Studio, including the actions taken and rooms that users navigated to. This provides insights into how your users are using Studio in Visier.

Data model and query APIs: We enhanced the data model and data query APIs to add new API endpoints and support for new data types. We also enhanced existing data types to support additional field types.

Planning

What's new

Change the dimension structure in plan vs actuals comparison: When comparing plan and actuals metrics, you can now change the dimension structure that is used to calculate the actuals metric without having to change the order of metrics in the comparison.

Define calculation levels for plan items: When creating a plan, you now have the option to define a calculation level to select the segment in which you want calculations to stop for non-core plan items.

Roll up from leaves for imported data: When importing a CSV file, conflicts can arise in the planning grid when plan values don't add up correctly. You can now solve all conflicts in the planning grid by rolling up child values to re-calculate parent values.
