We promoted the Projects API from alpha release status to beta. For more information about release statuses, see Visier APIs.

What's new

Allow Email Schedules to Over 1000 Recipients

You can now change the recipient limit for analysis email push. If you are interested in increasing the default recipient limit, please contact your Customer Success Manager. We've also added inline help to remind schedulers of the recipient limit. An estimate of the total recipients will be provided as schedulers add users and user groups to the recipient list. For more information, see step 8 in Create an Email Push Schedule.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you are interested, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Email Push Time of Day Setting

When scheduling an analysis email, you can set the time when emails are processed for delivery. This helps schedulers align delivery times with data loads and regular business hours. For more information, see step 4 in Create an Email Push Schedule.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you are interested, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Analysis Link Improvements

We’ve added a blue header and updated the styling of analysis links to make them more distinct. When creating an analysis link, you can now add an image or a metric spotlight that showcases up to three metrics to display alongside the link. For more information, see "Link" in Create an Analysis.

Simplified Landing Experience

We’ve redesigned the layout of the Home room so users can access relevant content, faster. The analysis title and description have been hidden to provide immediate access to essential information and data. The new header consists of the global search bar, Time picker, and expandable filtering controls.

The Home room is the central hub for information, enriching the experience when users sign into Visier. We've added three new persona-based templates to help admins curate content for the Home analysis. The templates include essential information that focus on practical, key metrics that each persona needs, with additional links at the end for those who wish to dive deeper into the provided analysis. For more information, see Home and Set the Home Analysis for All Users.

Override Time in a Specific Visual

Analysis authors can now lock the time period and granularity of any chart card. Overriding the analysis time behavior means the time period will persist on a chart even as time progresses. This allows you to show how actuals build across a fixed calendar year on a month-to-month basis. Viewers will see a Lock icon on charts that have a fixed time period. For more information, see The Time Context and "Fix the time setting" in Create an Analysis.

Aggregated Data Export Hierarchy Display Settings

When downloading an Aggregated Data Export as a spreadsheet or consuming the data in a third-party application, you can choose how hierarchies appear. You can have the levels of a hierarchy displayed as a single column or have them expanded into separate columns. For more information, see "Hierarchy display settings" in How to Consume a Data Export.

Table Visualization Improvements

We've made the following improvements to the Table visualization, you can now:

  • Apply traffic lighting to tables with multiple metrics. Previously, it could only be applied to tables with one metric.
  • Rename custom groups in columns.
  • See the different levels of a hierarchy as separate columns when downloading the data as a spreadsheet from Explore.
  • See column headers wrap in the table. Previously, column headers would crop if they were too long.
  • Hide the Overall row.
  • Add calculations as columns.

For more information, see Build the Table Visual and How Data is Organized in the Table Visual.

Traffic Light on Movement Breakdown Visual

You can now apply traffic lighting to the Net Change metric in the Movement Breakdown visual. For more information, see "Add traffic lighting rules" in Movement Breakdown Visual.

Power BI Connector

We’ve updated the connector to version 1.7.1. This includes a fix for time conversion issues, improved error messages, and enhanced query validation. For more information, see Use Visier Data in Power BI.

Efficient Workday Connector Onboarding

We've made improvements to the Workday data connector to streamline onboarding, with a focus on reducing the time required to set up connector credentials and validate data. For more information about the new validation tool, see Validate Data Versions Using the Workday Query Language.

Note: Data is required for this feature.

Data Flow Visualization

Data Engineers can now explore a visual representation of how data flows from your source files to Visier's analytic objects. For example, you can see all the rules that transform Employee data, the mappings that use the Employee source, and the analytic objects that are populated by Employee data. For more information, see Data Flow Visualization and Data Statistics.

Note: Data is required for this feature.

Data Version Snapshots

Administrators can now preserve data versions and review them at any time in the future to see the original data that may have been distributed to wider audiences, such as executives, auditors, and public reporting. For example, you can inspect a data version that was published six months ago without seeing any recent data corrections or restatements. Administrators can dig deeper into previously reported numbers to answer follow-up questions from auditors or executives. For more information, see Data Version Snapshots.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you are interested, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Session Validity Settings in Studio

Administrators can now set up session validity in Studio. If your identity provider doesn't specify maximum session length, you can now set how long a user's session remains active. You can also set idle timeouts to automatically log out inactive users after a specified period. For more information, see Set Up Session Validity.

Standard User Provisioning (SCIM)

SCIM automates how identity information is exchanged between two entities, such as your identity provider or IAM service and Visier. SCIM supports automatic user provisioning and deprovisioning, group provisioning, and easier monitoring of user privileges and application access.

Note:

  • Configuration is required for this feature.
  • Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you are interested, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Bug fixes

128703 - Metrics with Dynamic Value and Trailing Periods Enabled

We’ve fixed an issue where metrics with dynamic values and trailing periods enabled required both options to be set, rather than allowing you to choose one or the other. Now, you can explicitly disable trailing time by selecting the new "Not Set" option, making it easier to select only a dynamic value without affecting the trailing time setting.

128180 - Downloaded Analyses Breaks in Powerpoint

We’ve fixed an issue where converting HTML elements to IText elements didn't handle color styling when specified by name. This caused analyses to fail when exporting to PDF or PPT.

APIs

What's new

Long List Query Support for API

We enhanced the list query API with the ability to return large result sets.

Snapshot Recorder

We built a sample application in Python to address the challenge of maintaining data integrity for accurate historical reporting and analysis. The sample application provides a solution to preserve original metric values and compare recent metric values against the originals to show progress over time, ensuring consistency and avoiding issues caused by data corrections at a specific point in time. For more information, see Snapshot Recorder Sample Application.

Note: Configuration is required for this feature.

Visier API Python SDK

We now offer a Software Developer Kit (SDK) in Python that gives developers a more seamless and Pythonic way to call Visier APIs. For more information, see Visier API Python SDK (Beta).

Vee

What's new

Vee Integrated with GPT-4o mini and GPT-4o

We’ve updated Vee’s models of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0 Turbo to GPT-4o mini and GPT-4o within Microsoft Azure to provide faster responses and better quality answers. For more information, see Vee Architecture, Privacy, and Security.

Ability to Customize Vee’s Sample Questions

Administrators can now add, remove, or edit the sample questions that appear on the Vee landing page. For more information, see Customize Vee Sample Questions.

This section covers the changes to the content of the Visier People solution.

VP: Essentials

What's new

Has Direct Reports Selection Concept

We've created a new concept called Has Direct Reports to check if an employee has at least one direct report in the selected period.

Home Templates

We've added three new persona-based templates that admins can set as the default analysis for the Home room. The content within the templates include essential information that focus on practical, key metrics that each persona needs.

  • Administrators
  • HR Business Partners
  • HR Leaders

Bug fixes

125009 - Performance Improvement for Objects Using Span of Control > 0

We’ve improved the response times of the following objects that used Span of Control > 0 as a filter in their formulas. Instead, we’ve replaced this with a new concept called Has Direct Reports that only checks if there are direct reports in the selected period.

Metrics

  • Manager of Individual Contributors Count
  • Managers with Direct Reports Count

Properties

  • Span of Control Activated
  • Direct Reports Who Are Managers
  • Reporting Layers Below Employee

Concepts

  • Has Only Individual Contributors as Direct Reports

125753 - Tenure with Current Manager Formula Update

We’ve updated the formula of the Most Recent Start Date calculated property, which is used in the formula of the Tenure with Current Manager calculated property, as it showed different values in view details for subject-based and event-based metrics. Now, the calculated property will show consistent values in view details across both metric types.

VP: Hybrid and Remote Work

What's new

Attendance Metric Updates

We’ve updated the following metric formulas to include both on-site and online check-ins in their attendance calculations:

  • Total Employee Attendance
  • Average Employee Attendance
    • We’ve also updated the denominator of this metric to Average Headcount. Previously, this was only including employees that had a location check-in event.

Deprecation notices

We’ve deprecated Average On-Site Check-Ins to support the new and improved location check-in metrics. For a full list of the metrics we will no longer support, see Deprecation notice: Blueprint Design Objects.

Planning Deep Copy Enhancements

We’ve made the following enhancements to the plan duplication workflow:

  • The duplicate plans modal has been updated with a simplified layout, allowing you to name the plan before duplicating it.
  • Loading statuses now appear on screen when a plan duplication job begins, providing real-time updates on its progress.
  • While a duplication job is running, planners are restricted from copying, deleting, or editing a plan, ensuring that they cannot enter a broken state.

For more information, see Copy a Plan.
