VP: Skills External Data

What's new

Open Skills Initiative

In order to support skills data from various providers internationally, such as JobKred, we've added the following objects:

  • Average Employee Skills Fit (Metric)
  • Employee Skills Fit Score Range (Dimension)
  • Employee Skills Fit Score (Property)

We've also renamed the following existing objects to better reflect that they are using calculations from Visier, rather than from skills vendors:

  • Average Visier Skills Fit, previously Average Skills Fit (Metric)
  • Visier Skills Fit Range, previously Skills Fit Range (Dimension)
  • Visier Skills Fit, previously Skills Fit (Property)

Work Intelligence

We've expanded our skills data model, allowing you to make evidence-based workforce transformation decisions, and identify the benefits of investments into AI. The Work Intelligence dataset includes 16 new metrics that offer insights into tasks required for jobs, skills required for tasks, and the amount of time and money that is currently spent on these tasks. With these metrics, you can pursue cost saving opportunities by identifying work that could be better done with AI automation, and redirect human efforts to the work that depends on human skills.

VP: Total Rewards

What's new

Day of the Week Absence Event

In order to deepen insights into absence patterns, we've added the following objects:

  • Day of Week Range (Concept)
  • Absence Date (Property)
  • Day of the Week (Property)

Using these objects, you can now create visuals that filter absences and overtime by the day of the week.

VP: Workforce Planning

What's new

Shift Plan Timeline Forward

You can now move the start date of a non-managed plan forward after a plan has been created. For more information, see "Define your plan timeline" in Create a Plan.

TechWolf External Skills

Deprecation notice

We're expanding our analytic capabilities to support skills data from various providers. To minimize the duplication of objects and to support the new Open Skills Initiative objects, we're deprecating the following objects:

  • Average TechWolf Skills Fit (Metric)
  • TechWolf Skills Fit Range (Dimension)
  • TechWolf Skills Fit Score (Property)

For a full list of the objects we will no longer support, see Deprecation notice: Blueprint Design Objects.

The new Open Skills Initiative objects are as follows:

  • Average Employee Skills Fit (Metric)
  • Employee Skills Fit Score Range (Dimension)
  • Employee Skills Fit Score (Property)

Platform

This section covers the changes to Visier's Real-Time People Data Platform.

What's new

Flatten Table Hierarchy

A new way to view hierarchical data in the Table visual. You can now flatten tables by expanding hierarchical levels into separate columns, making it easier to view, scan, and compare data side by side. With this layout, you can hide the overall column, display data at the lowest hierarchy level, and resize columns. For more information, see "Flatten the table structure" in Build the Table Visual.

Personalized Alerts Enhancements

Personalized alerts now supports:

  • Adding a note to give context to the alert. The note is visible in alert emails and the Home room after an alert triggers.
  • Linking to existing analyses related to the alert. The analysis is visible in alert emails and the Alerts room after an alert triggers.
  • Reason for alert in alert emails so that users can see the threshold change that triggered the alert.
  • Alert owners can share alerts with other users and user groups. Previously, only administrators could share alerts with users using Studio. Now, users and administrators can share alerts with users or user groups using Home and Studio.
  • Create new alerts from visualizations (Breakdown, Trend, Trend Breakdown).

For more information, see Personalized Alerts.

Summarize Survey Text General Availability

Transform raw text into instant insights. With the Text visual, you can now generate and display an AI summary of the survey responses, allowing you to quickly uncover key themes and sentiment, helping you make faster, better-informed decisions. For more information, see "Generate an AI text summary" in Text Visual.

Prototypes

Add your own data to Visier without help from an administrator or IT expert. Prototypes are a quick way to bring new data into Visier for ad hoc analysis without relying on administrators or risking production data. For more information, see Prototypes.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access by submitting an Enable a Feature case.

Snowflake (Beta) Connector

We added a new Snowflake connector that applies Visier's next generation data onboarding architecture to Snowflake, including an easy-to-use wizard to navigate and select tables directly from Snowflake. Replicates your Snowflake data storage and uses Apache Spark to reduce onboarding time, simplify connector configuration, and load data changes more efficiently. For more information, see Sync Snowflake Data.

Note: Beta This feature is in beta. If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager.

Table Sources

Instead of using Parquet files to store and process data in Visier, we are introducing a new SQL table source format. Table sources provide near real-time data processing and the ability to use SQL in data ingestion and source management, such as to handle GDPR data deletion requests.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access by submitting an Enable a Feature case.

Dimension Member Localization

You can now streamline your localization workflow by configuring dimension member display names in additional languages directly from your source data. This allows you to map and apply translations as part of the data load process. For more information, see Translate Dimension Members.

Improvements to Project Changes

We’ve reorganized project changes to match the Studio navigation for a more intuitive experience. You can now customize row groupings to your preference and bulk-delete related items for faster cleanup. For more information, see Manage and Commit Project Changes.

Rebasing Projects in Review

If a project is based on an outdated production version, you can now update to the latest production version directly within the approval workflow. For more information, see "Validate a project" in Change the Project Status.

Synchronize Security Artifacts

You can now copy versioned permissions, data access sets, user groups, and user assignments to the non-versioned environment in Studio. For more information, see "Synchronize Security Artifacts" in Non-Versioned Security.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access by submitting an Enable a Feature case.

Debug Inspector Access

Access to the Debug Inspector has been extended to users with specific data category and target permissions. This empowers teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues directly within their authorized scope. For more information, see Add Access to Items.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager. Visier Case Managers can request access by submitting an Enable a Feature case.

Studio Assistant General Availability

Announcing the general availability of the Studio Assistant, which allows you to get answers to general questions, best practices, and how-to information while working in Studio. Whether you have a question about a particular setting or need clarification on your next step, the Studio Assistant delivers immediate answers and insightful tips precisely when you need them. For more information, see "Studio Assistant" in Studio Navigation.

APIs

What's new

Correlation IDs for Security APIs

In bulk API requests to create or update objects, the batch is processed concurrently with no guaranteed response order. Without an identifier to designate which request object belongs to which response object, it's difficult to make sense of the response.

You can now optionally use assign a correlation ID to associate bulk request fields with their corresponding response fields. Correlation IDs are useful additions to a bulk request if the request does not already include UUIDs, which are unique identifiers. For more information, see "Use correlation IDs in bulk API calls" in Permissions API Overview.

Vee

What's new

Vee for Slack

Vee is now integrated with Slack. Organizations using Slack can access Vee's valuable data-driven insights by asking questions directly within the Slack interface, bringing the power of Vee into their daily workflow and streamlining information access. For more information, see Vee in Slack.

Vee Usage-Based Tuning General Availability

Announcing the general availability of Vee usage-based tuning. Vee now has the ability to tune responses by leveraging clarification selections made by users. Previously, Vee had no memory of which object a user chose when selecting an alternative metric in a response. Now, it will remember selections and prioritize them in future responses. This personalized memory automates continual tuning and results in more accurate responses tailored to each user's unique needs. For more information, see "Usage-based tuning" in Prompt Tuning Vee.
