What's new

Choose Levels to Display in Node Customization

When customizing a node, you can now select the levels to display for properties with named levels such as Location. This keeps your nodes focused on the most relevant details. For more information, see "Customize nodes" in Design by Position.

Bulk Add Positions

You can now add multiple positions at once to an org structure. When adding positions, you can include position details such as job name or pay level. For more information, see "Add positions" in Design by Position.

Select Key Metrics in Side Panel

You can now choose exactly which key metrics to display or hide in the side panel, giving you control and visibility on the metrics that matter most.

Design Principle Key Metrics

You can now view the following design principle key metrics directly in the side panel or in the metric summary:

  • Critical issues
  • Non-critical issues
  • Custom checks

Metric Breakdown Export

You can now export metric breakdowns in Excel or CSV format.

Grouped Elements in PowerPoint Export

When you export your org structure to PowerPoint, node elements are now automatically grouped together to simplify moving them around.

Move Starting Point Nodes

You can now move starting point nodes using either the move button or by dragging them directly. Previously, the move button was hidden for starting point nodes, preventing you from reassigning them to a different parent.

What's new

Design Principles

Administrators with the Organization Design Administrator capability can create design principles to define the organizational rules users should follow. Design principles let you set quantitative and qualitative guardrails (such as span of control limits, pay differentials, staff ratios, and time zone alignment) that are evaluated against your organizational data. When designing their org structure, users will instantly see the number of issues that violate a principle. By turning on highlighting, they can pinpoint exactly where these issues occur, making it easy to identify and fix them at a glance. For more information, see Create a Design Principle.

Updated Organization View

In Organizations view, you can now remove an organization and add positions to an organization. To add positions, simply drag them directly from the Positions or No Organization panels straight into any organization. For more information, see "Remove organizations" in Design by Organization.

Node Customization

You can now customize the appearance of nodes in both Organizations and Positions views. You can customize node sizes as well as the information that appears such as key metrics, employee and position details, and more. For more information, see "Customize nodes" in Design by Organization.

Focus on Position

You can now focus on specific positions within an org structure by double-clicking a node, bringing direct reports up horizontally for a clearer view. This eliminates extra noise from the rest of the hierarchy, making it easier to walk through specific team structures with others. For more information, see "Focus on position" in Design by Position.

Plan Creation Filtering

When creating a new org structure, you can now select multiple starting points to view specific teams side by side. Additionally, you can refine your position scope by choosing whether to apply your organization's default filter context. For example, these filters typically exclude specific worker types, such as contingent workers. For more information, see "Create an organizational structure" in Organization Design.

Export Scenario for Presentations

You can now export to PowerPoint. The export generates PowerPoint objects that you can easily edit post-export. For more information, see Organization Design.

What's new

Unknown Org Side Panel

We’ve added a new area in the Organization Details panel for positions without an org assignment so you can quickly identify and manage unassigned roles.

What's new

Refined Side Panel Controls

The side panel (containing position details, holding area, and health check) now opens automatically when you enter an org structure and remains in your preferred state, only opening or closing when you explicitly toggle it. If no node is selected, the side panel will display an empty state.

Organization Design Available in Preview

Organization Design is now available while previewing a project.

Additional Confirmation Modals

We’ve added confirmation modals for assigning employees to positions and removing positions entirely. These modals ensure your changes are intentional and reduce accidental edits.

What's new

Improved Change Visibility on Org Nodes

We’ve added visual change indicators to attributes in the Organization Details panel to help you track edits easily. Now, any modifications to a organization node’s Name, Parent, or Org Head will be clearly indicated by a purple change tooltip. You can hover over the tooltip to view details about the change.

Add Change Type in Position Details Panel

You can now specify the change type in the Position Details panel when removing positions and unassigning employees, allowing you to clarify why the decision was made.

Optimized Position Details Panel Layout

We’ve reorganized the attributes in the Position Details panel to create a more intuitive flow for editing and reviewing node attributes. Attributes are now grouped by their function, with Assignee and Direct Manager listed at the top for immediate access.
