Enhance and Extend Profiles

The actions, configurations, and workflows that are available for the Basic Model Developer, Advanced Model Developer, and Data Engineer profiles.

Overview

The Basic Model Developer, Advanced Model Developer, and Data Engineer profiles allow users to create and deliver insights faster than ever before without requesting services from Visier. Administrators can assign a combination of these profiles to users so they can enhance or extend the analytic model.

Note:

These profiles are only available if you purchased or upgraded to Visier People^® Essentials after February 2024.
You will need to purchase Visier People^® Extend to get access to the Advanced Model Developer profile. If you are interested, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Enhance vs Extend

Enhance is any work you do to manage your purchased analytic content:

Create and customize metrics that utilize the existing Visier analytic objects
Add to or customize attributes on existing Visier analytic objects
AI API & Workbench Integration
Load data into an existing Visier analytic object

You can enhance the analytic model with the Basic Model Developer and Data Engineer profiles.

Extend is any work you do to build on top of your purchased analytic content:

Add analytic objects (subject, event, or overlay) to your instance of Visier People
Load, transform, and publish data into these new objects
Leverage the full capabilities of Visier to deliver insights to stakeholders

You can extend the analytic model with the Advanced Model Developer and Data Engineer profiles.

Basic Model Developer

This profile grants users access to creation, customization, and configuration workflows to enhance the analytic model:

Define analytic object settings.
Create and customize properties.
Create and customize all dimensions.
Change a local dimension to a shared dimension.
Create and customize all concepts.
Create and edit metrics.
Create and edit What-if models.
Create and edit data types.
Create and edit explanation snippets.
Create a managed plan in the studio experience. Only available with the purchase of Visier Workforce Planning.

Advanced Model Developer

This profile grants users access to creation, customization, and configuration workflows to enhance and extend the analytic model:

Create analytic objects such as subjects, events, and overlays.

Data Engineer

This profile grants users access to data upload and data management workflows:

Create and manage sources in the global workspace. Sources store data for your solution and are used to map to data load targets, such as analytic objects.
Validate sources using source query.
Create data categories. A data category represents a dataset loaded into Visier that runs on a unique data load frequency.
Create and configure mappings. Mappings connect the source files' columns to the properties in Visier's analytic objects.
Create and configure business rules, multi-subject rules, and system rules to specify how your data is loaded into Visier.
Run, schedule, and monitor jobs in a project to generate a data version.
Create and customize data connectors in a project.
Run a data connector extraction job in a project.
Correct records using the debug inspector.
Change tenant settings.
Upload a business calendar.
