Preview the Solution as a User

Preview what specific users can see in the solution experience.

Access requirements

Custom profiles with one of the following capability sets:

  • Tenant Management (Read, Detailed) and User Management (Read, Simple) to preview as a user in the Tenant room
  • Security (Read, Simple) and User Management (Read, Simple) to preview as a user in a project

Reach out to your administrator for access.

Note: If the More Security Around Data Access Management feature is enabled, you will need access to all data, such as the Super Admin permission, to perform this task. For more information, see More security around data access management.

  1. Do one of the following:

    Option Do this
    To preview the current production version as a user

    On the global navigation bar, click Tenant, and then click the Users tab.

    To preview the changes in a project as a user

    Note:  

    • Organization Design is not available while previewing a project. For more information, see Organization Design.

    On the navigation bar, click Security > Users.

  2. Select a user in the Users list.

  3. Click View As > Preview As User in the upper-right corner.

    Result: A preview version of the solution opens in a new tab.

You cannot perform the following actions when previewing a user:

  • Export data or content to Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF
  • Edit, copy, delete, or share analyses
  • View the analyses that the user has created or analyses that have been shared with them
  • Create a group or key group
  • Create or delete a capture
  • Create or consume Data Exports
  • Create or edit a plan
  • Make changes in Studio including creating and editing permissions and users
  • Create, edit, share, or publish a project
  • Preview other users
  • Report a data issue
