Studio Profiles

Profiles grant users access to administrator capabilities and the studio experience.

Overview

Profiles and platform capabilities are the admin counterparts of analytic permissions and capabilities. Profiles group capabilities, which control access to workflows and configurations.

Note: To retrieve all the profiles in your solution, see Profiles API.

Administrators can assign the following profiles to users:

  • Data Uploader: Access to the Data Upload room in the studio experience and the ability to send data from your data source systems to Visier.
  • Data Validator - All Data: Grants users capabilities to configure alerts and validate data. Users granted this capability will have access to all data surfaced in alerts and issues, regardless of their permissions.

Caution: Data Validator - All Data is a powerful profile that gives a user access to view data in the Issues room that they may not have permission to see otherwise. For more information about issues, see Issues.

  • Enterprise API User: Grants users read access to data APIs and write access to user APIs.
  • Read Impersonated: Allows support users to impersonate this user in a read-only capacity.
  • Visier University Manager: Grants users access to the enhanced functions of the Visier University.
  • Visier Case Manager: Grants users administrator access to case management and the Projects section in the Visier Service Portal. For case management, users can view, create, and close all cases logged by users. In the Projects section, users can view projects, add comments, and log issue cases for Visier onboarding projects.
  • Visier Case Requester: Grants users access to case management in the Visier Service Portal. Users can view, create, and close their own service cases.
  • Visier Cloud Administrator: Access to the studio experience with the ability to assign profiles, create and manage permissions, define data security, manage users, manage Guidebooks, edit basic information of Data and Model objects, share files, upload data, preview the solution as another user, and publish changes to production.
  • Write Impersonated: Allow support users to impersonate this user and make changes as the user.

Profiles are assigned to users in the global workspace for specified time ranges. Administrators have the option of managing the profiles assigned to a user in the Users room or managing the users assigned to a profile in the Profiles room.

Note: For security purposes and to prevent users from getting locked out of their accounts, administrators cannot change the profiles assigned to their own account. To change the profiles assigned to your account, contact another administrator.
