Issues

Issues are errors and warnings resulting from a new data version generation.

In a project, the Issues room displays any data issues in a data version. Issues are generated in a data version after an alert identifies data that isn't the accepted value or in the expected range. For more information about alerts, see Alerts.

You may see the following issue types in a data version:

  • Warning: Requires admin review but may not need correction.
  • Critical: Fails the data version and requires admin review and resolution.

You can find all data version issues in the Issues room in a project, which lists the state of each issue, their types, category, and the number of sub-issues for each.

To access the Issues room, open the production project and navigate to Validation > Issues.

View all data version issues

You can individually investigate each issue to find out where the issue originated in the new data.

  1. In a project, on the navigation bar, click Validation > Issues.
  2. In Data version, select a data version from the list.
  3. In the Issues table, click the More button in the Actions column on the issue you want to investigate.
  4. For each issue, you can do one of the following:
    • View issues: Investigate the issue. For more information about resolving issues, see Resolve an Issue.
    • Mark as resolved: Indicate the issue is resolved and no further action is needed.
  5. If the issue is an unconfigured concept, you can also do the following:
    • Ignore issue: Ignore the issue for this data version.
    • Ignore issue always: Ignore the issue in all subsequent data versions.
  6. After clicking View issues, you can take additional actions on each sub-issue:
    • For unconfigured concepts, click Configure concept.
    • For metric alert issues, click Resolve issue or Go to alert.
    • For subject member alert issues, click Go to alert.

Note: The Go to alert button allows you to view the alert that caused the issue. For more information, see Alerts.

  7. Optional: To preview the selected data version, click Preview.
  8. If you made a change that requires publishing to take effect, publish the project to production. For more information, see Publish Project Changes.
  9. Optional: If the issues are acceptable and you want to make the data version visible, see Make a Failed Data Version Visible.
