This section covers the changes to Visier's Real-Time People Data Platform.

Patch updates

November 26 - Table Source Support for the Databricks Connector

The Databricks Connector now supports table sources, allowing you to use SQL to filter, update, and delete data. When creating a new connector credential, you can now choose between a file or table source. For more information, see Sync Databricks Data.

Note: To enable this feature, contact Visier Technical Support.

What's new

Detailed Table Visual

The new Detailed Table visualization displays the subject or event records that contribute to a metric, helping you spot patterns and identify the people and events behind each value. This consolidated view makes it easy to explore your data and uncover the why behind your metrics. For more information, see Detailed Table Visual.

Summarize Survey Text

Transform raw text into instant insights. With the Text visual, you can now generate and display an AI summary of the survey responses, allowing you to quickly uncover key themes and sentiment, helping you make faster, better-informed decisions. For more information, see "Generate an AI text summary" in Text Visual.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, please contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager.

Differences as Count and Percentage

You can now turn on a secondary data label in visuals to show the difference as a count and percentage, giving audiences a more complete view of metric changes. For more information, see "Show a secondary data label in a comparison" in Change Data Labels.

Reference Line Enhancements

You can now add reference lines by time period and display separate reference lines for each group in your visual. These enhancements make it easier for you to make fair comparisons when time periods or groups have inherent differences, instead of relying on a single overall value or target. For more information, see Add a Reference Line.

Vee Board Authoring

We're excited to announce the general availability of Vee Board authoring. Vee Boards are a powerful way to deliver AI surfaced insights tailored to your organization’s most pressing issues. Take full control of your narrative by selecting the visuals and text used to generate explanations, and preview them as you author to ensure your insights are clear, accurate, and contextually relevant. For more information, see Create a Vee Board.

Studio Assistant Enhancements

You can now access the Studio Assistant in the global workspace, restore your last conversation to continue where you left off, and quickly navigate to pages referenced in an answer. For more information, see "Studio Assistant" in Studio Navigation.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, please contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager.

Currency Data Types

You can now configure currency data types to display or hide the currency code and symbol. For more information, see Data Types.

Subject Member Set Metric Parameter

Administrators can now create a parameter type for metrics called Subject Member Set that allows you to establish a target goal to compare a set of sources against. For example, you can use a subject member set parameter to allow a user to define a set of skill subject members, and their corresponding skill level and importance, and compare them directly against a group of employees' skill set. For more information, see "Parameters" in Create a Metric.

Note: Limited Availability This feature is in limited availability. If you're interested, please contact your Customer/Partner Success Manager.

Updated Primary Key Dimension Subject Setting

We've updated the Primary Key Dimension setting for subjects by adding the option to use an existing dimension. This option allows administrators to select an existing dimension on the subject to group by and filter subject members. This is useful when your subject shares a dimension with other subjects. By explicitly using the existing dimension, you can prevent duplicate or incorrect hierarchies from appearing in visualizations. For more information, see "Primary Key Dimension" in Analytic Object Settings.

Metric Function VFL

We've added a metric function to the Visier Formula Language (VFL) called distanceToTarget. This function returns the vector distance between a source and a target using the Pythagorean formula. The source identifies the attributes in which to measure distance, such as a particular skill and an employee's skill level. The target identifies the value to measure the source against, such as the goal skill level and skill importance for employees. For more information, see "Metric" in Visier Formula Language (VFL).

Entity Relationship Diagram

View a diagrammatic representation of the subjects and events in your analytic model and their relationships. The entity relationship diagram updates in real-time to reflect the current state of your analytic model, including changes made within a project and analytic objects unique to your tenant. For more information, see Entity Relationship Diagram.

Global Data Versions Room

Administrators can now control whether new data versions that were generated from production are automatically available in the production project. This gives you more power to validate new data versions before releasing them to production. If enabled, the latest data version is automatically released to production. If disabled, you must contact Visier to make data versions visible. For more information, see "Make all new data versions available for production" in Data Versions.

Security Enhancements for Project Exports/Imports

All project changelist exports will now be exported as ZIP.SIG files, which will include a system-generated digital signature to ensure security, authenticity, and integrity. Upon import, the signature is automatically verified, and you can review export details such as source tenant, user, timestamp, and project information to confidently confirm the changelist is exactly what you expect. For more information, see Import or Export a Project Changelist.

Note:

  • Visier Extensions are included with your purchase of Visier People Extend.
  • Your organization must also opt in to AI features.

APIs

What's new

Vee API General Availability

Announcing the general availability of the Vee API, which allows you to integrate Vee into an existing digital assistant or your search functionality, or any other interface that your users interact with to answer their workforce questions. To use the Vee API, your team must build the embedding infrastructure to consume Vee through Visier APIs. You are encouraged to update routes in your API calls by replacing v1alpha with v1. For more information, see Vee API.

Vee

What's new

Vee Usage-Based Tuning

Vee now has the ability to tune responses by leveraging clarification selections made by users. Previously, Vee had no memory of which object a user chose when selecting an alternative metric in a response. Now, it will remember selections and prioritize them in future responses. This personalized memory automates continual tuning and results in more accurate responses tailored to each user's unique needs. For more information, see "Usage-based tuning" in Prompt Tuning Vee.

Patch updates

December 10 - Added Metrics for Calculate Skills Fit

We’ve added three metrics and one concept to allow for validation and improved analysis of the skills taxonomy and skills subjects. You can use the following metrics to validate that the numbers you see match with your source data:

  • Total Skill Profiles
  • Total Job Profiles
  • Total Job Skills

The following concept can be used with the metrics to filter to jobs that are currently active in your organization:

  • Active Job Profile

What's new

Calculate Skills Fit

We've added the following new skill metrics that allow you to perform robust skills analysis by comparing a target set of skills against an employee or job's skill set. You can define this target set of skills using a Skill Profile parameter that you can customize to select the specific skills you want to analyze, along with their skill levels and skill importance:

  • Employee Skill Profile Fit
  • Employee Skill Profile Gap
  • Job Skill Profile Fit
  • Job Skill Profile Gap

Leverage these skills metrics to enhance successor and internal hire selection, ensuring candidates have the skills required for the job. Formalize career paths that offer logical and desirable progressions, allowing people to grow while strategically utilizing the skills they have already developed. Further, proactively transform jobs that have been disrupted by AI in a way that ensures a talent pipeline is ready to fill those new roles. For more information on how to use these metrics, see "Select a skill profile metric" in Select a Metric.

In addition, as part of our continuous effort to improve skills analysis and provide robust insights, we have updated the Skills Data Model and added the following new subjects:

  • Skill
  • Job
  • Job Skills

Deprecation notice

We’ve deprecated the TechWolf Skill Category dimension to simplify our skill categories. For a full list of the objects we will no longer support, see Deprecation notice: Blueprint Design Objects.

Datasets and Enrichments

What's new

Skill-Based Groups for Visier Occupations

We've overhauled how jobs are organized in our job taxonomy to make it more intuitive to understand and easier to see connections between related jobs. The new classification system groups jobs based on characteristic skills instead of “purpose of work” categories. The labels of the top two levels of the taxonomy now represent people, such as production workers instead of a “purpose of work,” like manufacturing. For more information, see Visier Occupation groups jobs with similar characteristic skills.
